Eastern Goldfields College

Welcome to Eastern Goldfields College – a Western Australian senior college located in the capital of the Goldfields. We encourage our students to achieve to their potential following their chosen pathways for either post school education or employment.

The Eastern Goldfields name has long been associated with secondary education in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and surrounds and brings with it a great deal of tradition. In 2014 we celebrated the centenary of Eastern Goldfields. While we draw on the lessons of the past, we look forward to future challenges and achievements.

Winners are grinners...At last Wednesday's Show Off visitors were given a voting slip by the EGC student council to vote on the best food styling presentation and taste.It was a difficult decision as all of the food was very well presented and tasteful. Miss Gavan said 'The Annual year 11 food styling competition pitted Willy Wonka against the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with the Mad Hatter taking out the win!Both teams worked extremely hard on the day and should be proud of what they achieved!! Mental Health Week - TuesdayToday Miss Baker's Year 11 students in Health studies conducted a Mental Health Expo in student services during periods 1 & 2. Teachers and students visited the expo and were surprised to learn how consuming sugar and alcohol can have an adverse effect on your mental health! There were many different stalls that were interactive and students had researched their subjects well - congratulations to Miss Baker's class for a successful Expo.At lunch 1 students participated in some Origami making and board games. Miss Kirke supervised the painting of the Blue Tree which will go on display near the BeanED coffee Pod.At Lunch 2 - Mr Chidlow gathered a group of enthusiatic staff members to participate in a Tug of War against the students. The winner received not only bragging rights but the perpetual presitgous trophy! Winners were 'The Staff', well done to all participants and to the crowds of onlookers cheering on from the side lines.Tomorrow is 'World Teachers & Support Staff' morning tea in the HUB at 11am. ...
